Welcome to my website.
Art has been with me for many years. When I was at primary school in the early 1960's my teacher said that the only things I'd be any good at were teaching art or PE! I don't think they were too impressed. Having been quite "arty" at school, 29 years of working in the City of London with its daily commuting and long-ish hours meant that art took a back seat in my life, but my interest was still there and I did produce a few pieces.
"Retirement" to East Devon in 2003 has given me more time (albeit after a few years of serious DIY on the house) and, more recently, a weekly art class got me back into the creative world of art.
I don't have a "style" or favourite medium and like to experiment - although I'll work with one medium or technique for a while in order to have a good understanding of their qualities and process.
I'd like to be more impressionistic - but I have a tendancy to get detailed - and I'm also drawn to graphic art. While MC Escher (wonderful graphic art) and Frank Frazetta (great fantasy comic book illustrations) were my "heroes" in the early 1970's, I now like and appreciate most art - whether its traditional or modern, 2D or 3D - but I'm not too sure about photorealistic art (why not just take a photo?) although I hugely admire the artists themselves.
My more recent pieces are shown on the following pages and some of them are for sale - as Originals, Prints and/or Greetings Cards. Prices shown include delivery - if sent to a UK address. Originals and Prints are sent by courier while Greetings Cards are sent by Royal Mail. If you are outside the UK please contact me for delivery costs and options.
